Our founder, Jodie Moulding, and her youngest son have been volunteering with the charity for the past 12-months at their original site, and now we’re proud to support the opening of their new site in Crewe with a £40,000 donation.

The Very Green Grocery

One of CLT’s standout services is The Very Green Grocery which provides affordable groceries whilst helping reduce food waste. They work with local supermarkets, food distributors and haulage companies, and accept donations of surplus food, making sure good food doesn’t go to waste and ensuring that everyone has access to nutritious food.

Anyone can sign up to become a member for free and can visit the shop twice a week, paying a £6 donation to walk away with a shop worth between £25-40.

Community Transport

Transportation can be a significant barrier for many, especially the elderly and those with mobility issues. CLT's Community Transport service offers a lifeline, providing friendly and reliable transport to medical appointments, shopping trips, and social events. This service not only ensures accessibility but also fosters social connections and reduces isolation.

Buddy & Befriending

Loneliness is a growing concern, particularly among the elderly. CLT's Buddy and Befriending service pairs volunteers with individuals who need companionship and support. Whether it's a friendly chat over a cup of tea or assistance with daily tasks, this service brings warmth and connection to those who might otherwise feel alone.

ReCycles

In a bid to promote sustainability and provide affordable transportation, CLT launched ReCycles. This project refurbishes donated bicycles, giving them a new lease on life. The refurbished bikes are then sold at affordable prices, encouraging eco-friendly transportation and supporting the community's health and well-being.

Retail and Recycling

CLT's Retail and Recycling initiatives are a win-win for the community and the environment. By selling quality second-hand furniture and home goods, CLT not only provides affordable options for shoppers but also promotes recycling and reduces landfill waste. It's a practical way to support sustainability while helping those in need.

Community Café

The Community Café is more than just a place to grab a bite; it's a hub of social activity. Offering delicious, affordable meals, the café provides a welcoming space for people to come together, share stories, and build friendships. It's a testament to CLT's commitment to fostering a sense of community.
